When Nick Booth of Podnosh posted an event to bring together bloggers in Birmingham in early January 2008, a small rabble of social media types got together and discussed the second city’s place in the blogosphere. After spawning a Facebook group the number of attendees at the February event quickly increased and the format became more organic.
